Unique Blogger Award

Posted 1 January, 2018 by Jade in Tag / 6 Comments

I was nominated by Aditi at Readers Rule, whose blog is fantastic and should definitely be checked out❤︎

I was meaning to do this before the new year, but time got away from me (and I got sick, ugh), so here it is now. Better late than never~

The Rules

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them 3 questions.

Aditi’s Questions

Q1. What are your all time favourite books (the ones you recommend to everyone)?

I recommend The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch, If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, Monsters of Verity by Victoria Schwab, and the like, a lot. But my all time favourites are those and Ash by Malinda Lo, Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour, Otaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii by Fujita, Durarara!! by Narita Ryogo, and a bunch more.

Q2. What things you generally keep in mind while reviewing a book?

I tend to focus on characters a lot. If I like at least one of the characters I’m gonna find something positive to write, surely lol I do try to keep in mind not to be overly negative at times too, but sometimes a negative review’s a good thing. No one likes every book after all (Falling Kingdoms, I’m looking at you).

Q3. What would be the overall best book you read this year?

I haven’t read anything yet this year (total cop-out answer). Okay, for 2017, the best book I read was… If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio. I wanted to reread it immediately after finishing, I recommended it to family, friends, teammates at work and the newbies I was mentoring at the time as well. I think everyone was getting sick of me recommending it, but I WILL NEVER STOP. I love it so much❤︎

My Questions

Q1. If your favourite book was going to be adapted into a play/movie/TV show/game/etc, what format would you not want it to be adapted to?

Q2. What’s something you haven’t done, but really want to try doing someday?

Q3. What do you want to see done in a book this year?

I Nominate

Feel free not to do the tag if you’re not interested though, no pressure~❤︎

  1. I just read Nandini’s Unique Blogger Award post over at Unputdownable Books, and when I saw the name of the blog who had nominated her, I knew I had to stop by – because I also love tea and books! 🙂 Nice to meet you, Jade!

It looks like we have similar tastes in reading. I’m a big fan of Victoria / V.E. Schwab, including both Monsters of Verity books. Our Dark Duet was one of my favorite reads last year. I also love Leigh Bardugo’s novels, and The Lies of Locke Lamora is in my TBR pile. Hoping to read that one soon!

    • Nice to meet you too! ❤︎

Awesome! And yes, I definitely recommend reading The Lies of Locke Lamora, it’s a fantastic series and everyone’s great. I’m still waiting impatiently for the fourth book to get released lol

  2. I’m a little bit late to this party, but thank you so much for tagging me! I absolutely adored This Savage Song and cannot wait to read the sequel very soon. I’m also a character driven reader, like you, and that tends to come through in my reviews quite a bit as well.
