eReader Book Tag

I saw this tag on becandbones, whose blog is fantastic and I love all of her post headers on the main page, and I had to steal it too.

I love my eReaders, and I think the whole ‘they’re not real books’ idea needs to go away somewhere tbh. I don’t understand the hate for them at all, like I understand if people prefer physical books or don’t like reading from screens (which I’m used to because of many years of reading fanfic lol), but the format doesn’t change the content of the stories so why all the hate? We’re all still reading the same books.

WHAT SUPPORT DO YOU USE TO READ YOUR E-BOOKS? AN E-READER, A TABLET, OR THE PC?
I use a Kindle Oasis, my iPad, and the Kindle app on my computer.

HOW MANY E-BOOKS HAVE YOU READ SINCE YOU STARTED THE NEW “DIGITAL FASHION”?
NOT ENOUGH. A lot of my reading is primarily done on my Kindle now, but I still have a huge amount of unread books compared to my read ones. The majority of the books I’ve read the past few years have been on my Kindle rather than physical books though.

WHAT IS THE LANGUAGE OF YOUR EBOOKS?
English and Japanese. I used to have a Paperwhite for each (as they’re both under separate Amazon accounts for each region), but my Japanese one constantly ran out of room because I buy a ridiculously large amount of manga (and since they’ve started batch selling them it’s gotten even worse), and it didn’t take long for my English one to run out of room either. I’ve since upgraded to a Kindle Oasis for my English books (taking advantage of storing books in the cloud (like I should have from the beginning!) and the free 3G access which I didn’t have on my Paperwhite (and it’s faster than my Paperwhite too)), and I switched to my iPad for my Japanese books (which was a great idea because the Kindle app currently takes up near 60GB on there with everything downloaded lol).

BUY THEM OR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREE PROMOTIONS AND BOOKS?
Both! I’m usually super unlucky with timing though for free promotions and books though, because I buy some and then like a day later they’re either on sale or free for a limited time. (´△`)↓ Oops.

DO YOU ENJOY READING CLASSICS OR NEW AUTHORS?
I read a mix of both! Or try to anyway, because I’m really awful with classics. I try though lol So, really, not so much for the classics unfortunately.

HOW MANY E-BOOKS DO YOU HAVE?
Hahahaha, too many. I need to stop buying a bunch at once, but they’re so cheap compared to the paperbacks I can buy in Aus so I end up getting a bunch and spending a lot more than I initially intended. Whoops.

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SUPPLIER OF EBOOKS?
Amazon Australia and Amazon Japan.

DID YOU COMPLETELY ADHERE TO THE DIGITAL READING OR DO YOU STILL LIVE IN THE AGE OF THE PHYSICAL BOOK?
I think about 90% of my reading these days is digital, but there are a bunch of physical books on my shelves that I haven’t read yet so I’m gonna have to get a move on and switch that up a bit. But Kindles are much more convenient, really~

I don’t know, what do you think of eReaders? Personally I’m a fan, but obviously not everyone is lol Or read any good eBooks recently? Or physical books? (Or any good fanfic? lol)

    • Right! You get to carry around an entire library and adjust the text and everything to something that suits what you need. The brightness settings alone❤︎❤︎ Reading at night without another light source is so much easier now lol

  1. I only started reading e-books when I started my blog, with the Kindle app on my phone. It’s not the best screen size for reading so I may invest in a Paperwhite this year, but my favorite way to read is still physical books 🙂

    • Oh yeah, reading on your phone for long periods of time can be a pain lol It’s handy, but that screen size(´△`)↓ The Paperwhite is great! I hope you like it if you do get one❤︎

  2. Hey! I love the headers and entire atmosphere on your blog too! Thanks for the sweet words.

I am impressed that you are so dedicated to your ereaders. I feel like I wanna be more exclusive to my ereaders in some ways (there are so many new releases etc available through my elibrary) but I kinda go through in phases. Can’t really pick why…

    Great post!

    • Hey! Thank you❤ I love yours, and the variety you have with them for each kind of post is awesome.

Part of my devotion to my eReaders is that they’re much lighter to hold than my physical books lol What system does your eLibrary use? My local library system has eBooks now, but last time I looked at the catalogue it was all fairly old releases and the range of available books was super limited 🙁 I’m kinda stuck with purchasing all of mine lol

      Thank you~❤
